Forza Horizon 6 Leak Reportedly Drops 155 GB of Content Online - Insider Gaming

Forza Horizon 6 seems to have been inadvertently leaked by the unlikeliest source ahead of the game’s impending release. Earlier today, it appears that Playground Games posted an unencrypted repository of Forza Horizon 6 files on Steam, containing thousands of assets across 155 GB of content. Reports quickly surfaced on social media, particularly from leaks and cracking forums, stating that players could explore the files and run the game shortly after the content aired. The clarity of the reports is sparse beyond social chatter, but it appears that Forza Horizon 6 was uploaded to Steam ten days before launch and not encrypted by Playground Games. On the CrackWatch subreddit, it was noted specifically that the full game can be downloaded from sites that I’ll never name. The more daring users on the platform shared screenshots of the game running, allegedly on the files procured from the leaked build. One user posted a video to YouTube showcasing a couple of minutes of gameplay. Bizarrely, this isn’t the first time that a new game has leaked in this way. The human element involved with uploading a build for preloading is an inherently weak one, but I’m not going to dive into how it all works, because I honestly have no idea. I have just worked in technology for more than a decade and can tell you how volatile and unpredictable change and release processes can be. The same thing happened with Death Stranding 2 in March, when around 113 GB of files were uploaded without the appropriate encryption, just days before the game dropped on the platform. Playground Games has yet to comment on this situation, but we’ve reached out. For those willing to wait and behave themselves, Forza Horizon 6 will be released globally on May 19th.
